Ames AABC has been around for years and has contributed to many innovative educational initiatives at Ames High School through small grants that are vetted by the Board and awarded based on how they align with the AABC grant criteria. AABC offers funding specifically focused on academic and arts projects, programs, and events. We look for applications that positively impact AHS students and reflect the diversity of disciplines within academics and art that have no other sources of funding.
Encouraging our students to get excited about learning and to explore creative, innovative educational opportunities is so important. Over the years, these small grants (typically $50 to $300) have funded the Great Gatsby parties, provided new clocks for Chess Club, paid entry fees for the Rocketry Club, purchased books for a literature class reading project, and sponsored a student international culture fair open to the public.
